The Personality Test (Interview) is like a climax of an interesting Suspense Thriller movie. It has high scoring potential. Getting a good score matters a lot here with just sitting for 20-30 minutes. Marks obtained in interview have great bearing on selection/elimination or at least on your service location. Even a single mistake at interview stage can make you to appear for Preliminary and Mains again.
Our analysis :
Effective range of marks is 130 to 220 (95.01% of candidates fall in this range)
Bottom 50% of candidates score upto 175 marks.
Top 50% of candidates score between 175 and 220 marks.
Top 12% of candidates score between 200 and 220 marks. (must be targeted score by you).
If score is less in mains, you can still think to fetch better score at interview stage following bellow mentioned success mantras:
1. Do not consider interview only question answer round. Its your first face to face interaction with UPSC. Be more intelligent in listening than answering and maintain eye contact.
2. Be confident but not overconfident.
3. Be balanced in your language.
4. Be humble while saying your achievements and successful events.
5. Interview is all about checking your reactions on any sort of happenings in your life. Making a thoughtful answer in unfavourable condition can help you to score better.
Be officer not only in dressings but in your thoughts and immediate reactions. Have patience and spend enough time in thinking while answering questions asked. Be more practical in your approach giving answers. While leaving, say politely Thank you Sir/Madam to the chairperson and nod at others politely. Expressions you make while leaving interview room will make the chairperson and other members to think about you. Don't be nervous at any stage but handle all situations patiently.
The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions
